Abergavenny CC's third team completed an emphatic victory over Bosbury by 133 runs.

Under 13 Gwent Wicketkeeper James Roberts and Lee Fury opened the batting for the Beavers and were tested early on.

Roberts was the first wicket to go as he went for the big shot and was caught at square leg. Captain for the day Nathan Byrne then came to the crease and showed good intent from the very first ball. Both batsman were hitting boundaries freely until Byrne came down the pitch to the Bosbury slow bowler and completely missed the ball and then being bowled for 33.

James Aurelius came in and his first scoring shot was a six over square leg. With Bosbury bowlers tiring, Aber were scoring off every ball. Aurelius finished with a career best 60 and Fury completed a maiden league hundred hitting 113 and another youngster William Glenn hit a quickfire 26 as Aber scored 279-6 off 45 overs.

The Bosbury innings never really got going as Byrne took the first wicket with his first ball in the 11th over.

Owain Bradley then took the other opener as wickets started to tumble. Richard Monnington and Joe Bowden chipped in with one wicket each, Aurelius finished the game off with two wickets but the start of the show was leg spinner Jimmy Herrick who had impressive figures of three wickets foreight runs. Bosbury were all out for 146 in the 41st over.

At the halfway point Aber sit in second place in Marches League Division Three with six wins out of eight and will now how hope to finish the season strong by finishing in the promotion places.
