A GROUP of 12 inspired Outdoor Adventure students have raised over £370 after they challenged the public to guess how many miles they could paddle in 24 hours on Bude Canal.
The challenge saw the youngsters take shifts on the water, commencing 10am on a recent Thursday morning at the boathouse at Lower Wharf.
From there, each individual paddled to Rodd's Bridge — an estimated 2.5 miles away — before returning back to the boathouse to start again, or hand over the kayak to the next person.
Before the event the students asked people to contribute £1 towards their efforts and take a guess at how far they would manage, for a chance to win £50 if they got it correct.
