THE third annual awards ceremony for Holsworthy and Rural CATS (Community Action Through Sport) was held at Holsworthy Memorial Hall on Friday.
CATS encourages young people to get actively involved with the community and rewards them for their positive actions — often small but important actions which may otherwise slip through unnoticed and unremarked except by those immediately involved.
The rewards are all sports or healthy-living based and are generously donated to CATS by sports providers in the area.
Through its diversionary and young people's projects, CATS aims to offer new opportunities, skills and confidence-building to young people in the Holsworthy and Rural area.
Helen Timbury, secretary of CATS Holsworthy and Rural said the evening was 'a great success' for all concerned but especially for the 84 young people and their parents and sponsors.
