OCM Skatepark in Camelford is to install a new youth shelter at the site.

National Grid have supported the skatepark by way of a £10,000 grant to instruct Nine Design, a local contractor, to convert a container unit into a youth shelter for the young people of Camelford, as well as for parents to sit out of the elements to watch their children.

OCM Skatepark Club hope to get the shelter installed by March.

Grants administrator for OCM Skatepark, Amanda Lash, said: “I am delighted to have received the support of National Grid to enable us to provide a youth shelter for our young people. Wanting a shelter to sit and put their bags was the top of their wish list. This is the first grant obtained from the newly formed OCM Skatepark Club, and we are delighted to have gotten off to a successful start.”
