LAUNCESTON Youth Council is a branch of Launceston Town Council and is intended to be a 'voice' for the young people of the town. Margaret Young is the councillor who co-ordinates a team of young people from all the schools of the town. There are two or three elected representatives who meet every half term at the Orchard and discuss ways of engaging youth in local activities. The most recent project has been to fund a notice board in The Square so that advertising may be made easier for young people's events. Also, a matinee of Cars 2 was organised by the Youth Council and held in the Town Hall and there will be more to follow in the new year. Any suggestions from readers of the 'Post' would be appreciated and may be sent to Launceston Town Hall.
