MORE than 230 children across the Creative Learning Multi Academy Trust marked St Piran's Day by taking part in their annual pilgrimage to the nearby St Piran's Chapel at Trethevy, Tintagel.
Travelling by coach, and on foot through Halgabron Woods, children from Delabole and Tintagel Primary Schools retraced what could have been the footsteps of St Piran himself.
Directors, governors, parents and community members joined with the children for a celebratory service jointly led by the Revs Mike Parsons and Peter Dixon at the chapel.
Headteacher of both schools Judy Gidzewicz said: "It was a wonderful experience for our children and a pleasure to our schools joined together to mark this special Cornish occasion".
When children returned to their schools they enjoyed a pasty for lunch.
