STRATTON Young Farmers’ Club has provided a defibrillator for the community of Marhamchurch.
The club raised over £3,000 to provide a new defibrillator in Marhamchurch, holding comedy nights, wine and wisdom evenings and other events. The defibrillator has now been placed in the village’s telephone box.
A defibrillator training event was held in Marhamchurch last Tuesday evening, February 27, to allow members of the community to learn a bit more about the device and how it may be used in the case of an emergency.
Rob Bluett, from Stratton Young Farmers, said the evening went ‘very well’ and saw several people from the village turn out for the training event. The club hold most of their meetings in the Bullers Arms, Marhamchurch, so thought it would be worthwhile to raise money for a defibrillator for this community.
Rob said: “There seems to be a lot going on around, in providing defibrillators, but nothing in Marhamchurch, so we thought we’d raise some money to get them a defibrillator.”
