DANIEL Woodward, aged 14, who attends Budehaven Community College, has taken the top two awards for his cookery at this year's Callington Honey Fair.
Daniel, who is a member of the Launceston Beekeepers, has been keeping bees since he was nine-years-old and first became interested through a friend of his mums.
He first started showing his honey in 2010 at the local show in Holsworthy. As he was young he didn't quite know exactly what he was doing, and did not win many prizes for his efforts.
His main aim was basically to look after his bees and grow in strength with the number of hives. Having started his hobby with an empty hive in his garden, which a frind gave him.
After cleaning up the hive, he was rewarded by a swarm moving in and making their home there. Daniel's dad had put a catch box at his flight pond and within a couple of days this one was full with another swarm and so began his collection.
