Year 1 children at St Petroc’s School put on a wonderful musical performance, delighting parents and pupils with their musical talents in assembly this week.
The ‘String Babies’ have a choice of learning to play the violin or cello and are taught by peripatetic teacher, Barbara Degener.
Headmaster Dan Thornburn said: “The children have made super progress since they began learning their instruments just one year ago and we feel extremely lucky to have visiting music teachers who enrich our children’s learning.
“We focus very hard at St Petroc’s on building self-confidence and performing from such a young age is a key part of this. By the time our pupils reach Year 6 singing, reading, acting or performing in front of an audience is second nature!”
