YOUNG and old came to Poundstock’s Tudor Gildhouse from as far as Newcastle and Brittany for the annual Big Breakfast in aid of the historic church of St Winwaloe’s on Wednesday, August 16.
In total over 120 breakfasts were cooked and served by a small band of volunteers.
As well as the locals, there were many holidaymakers making a return visit.
Everyone had their fill of the full Cornish, including locally produced sausages and bacon supplied by Philip Warren Butchers of Launceston and eggs kindly donated by Staceys of Poundstock.
There were some very generous donations from parishioners who also gave time, effort and raffle prizes.
A magnificent total of nearly £800 was raised for the church.
