After the children’s video and the offertory hymn, the children and their teachers left for their Sunday Club classes in the Stable. Sue Banks led the prayers of intercession. After the service, a small group from the congregation made their way to the cemetery where David laid the wreath on the grave of Corporal R Sillifant who lost his life in World War II. David said a few words, reminding those present of the peace which followed the two world wars and those present stood in peace for quite a period of time before joining the rest of the congregation in the chapel for tea, coffee and ‘Trench Cake’ baked by Agnes Colwill.
