HOLSWORTHY group Worthy Quilters has sent out a donation of three boxes to be included in the last container sent by Operation Sunshine from the Tavistock depot.

In 2002 Kathy Harding, who works in Zambia with orphans of parents with aids and the leper colony in Leteta, was on leave in the UK and addressed a meeting at Launceston Methodist Church. One of the founder members of Worthy Quilters who was so impressed with descriptions of her dedicated work, she suggested the group support Operation Sunshine and since then at least 250 quilts, 150 dresses and 100 little jumpers have been sent to Tavistock for despatch to those children.

Operation Sunshine has been sending help to Africa for 33 years, during which time voluntary helpers have filled many shipment containers with all kinds of necessities for needy African families.
