IN a friendly at Hatherleigh a very close game ended in defeat for Stratton Bowling Club 80-85. We picked up 16 shots overall in thee last three ends to turn our game into a loss instead of a rout!

In the Cornwall League Division Two our 'C' team took on Bude at Stratton and came out with just 1 point in a 45-67 loss: B Haggas, M Johnson, R Evans,A Snowden 14-17; A Jobson, J Plumstead, D.Gliddon, G Clark 20-18; T Powley, J Wonnacott, G.Plumstead, J Jeffrey 11-32.

In Division One our 'A' team entertained Camelford 'A' and in a close game on two of the three rinks we eventually ended up winning on all 3 rinks for a 66-42 victory and all 5 points: D Parrott, G Gunby, G Walter, G Maynard 20-19; T Darvill, G Croud, C Gardiner, K Loadman 16-14; L Nagy, J Cottle, J Gill, D Clark 30- 9.

Again in Division One our 'B' team travelled to Wadebridge and lost on all 3 rinks for total score 37-80: B Peardon, V Mancuso ,J Connell, D Hooker 16-24; D Mountjoy, T Furminger, A James, M Sabel 10-28; H Pearse, K Smale, D Bowden, R Jennings 11-28.

In the ladies competitions we had a poor week losing in all three games.

In the Stamford League away to Bude we lost 33-82: C Richards, S Saunders, J Scott 12-24; D Claydon, H Sargent, P Williams 8-32; V Brooks, T Darvill, A Croud 13-26.

In the Date Cup away to Wadebridge we lost 22-46: J Fell, M Cottle, S Parker 7-28; W Trenchard, J.Scott, B Gunby 15-18.

Finally in the Rippon Cup, again at Wadebridge our team of: D Pearse, A Connell, E Hooker, A Maynard lost 17-22.
