For the second successive week, Falmouth's Trescobeas ground witnessed a dramatic last-ball finish with leaders Werrington scraping home by just one wicket.

Needing 224, the visitors lost half their side with only 57 on the board before they were saved by a skipper's innings from Ben Smeeth, aided by Paul Smith's 40.

Smeeth hit 85 before being run out leaving the last pair of Ian Worsnip and Rob Dymond with ten to get. Six were needed off Antony Angove's last over but Worsnip, (32no), was the hero, scrambling a two off the last ball.

Duncan Ayres made the early inroads to take four for 31. Falmouth had recovered from 29 for three, thanks to a 154-run partnership between Stefan Churcher, (99), and Mat Wiley (68). Alex Smeeth was again among the wickets taking four for 47.
