CORMAC has completed surfacing works at the Hillhead roundabout, Bude, enabling the removal of traffic lights and restrictions over the Easter holidays and opening the junction for temporary use as a roundabout.

Surfacing works were completed on Friday, March 31, and the junction will temporarily be open for use as a roundabout.

However, works will continue through the holiday period on areas adjacent to the highway that do not have an impact on traffic.

After Easter there is expected to be a short period of work under traffic lights, prior to a programmed completion date and full opening of the new roundabout by May 12.

A spokesperson for Cornwall Council said: “CORMAC and Cornwall Council would like to thank the public for their patience during the construction period for this project, which has involved extensive utility diversion works on what has proven to be a challenging site.”
