The builders arrived and took possession of the new Ashwater Parish Hall site last week. After pegging and taking levels, the excavation for the footings has begun in earnest. Work is expected to take about six months to complete. Site safety is paramount and notices have been posted throughout the village. Everyone is reminded to stay off the site whilst the work is undertaken. The main contractor, Messrs Coyde and Co from Newton Abbot have installed a temporary office and the site manager, Richard Lands has already commented on how tidy the working area was and expressed delight at the preparatory work carried out in anticipation of construction proceeding.
