A NEW household waste recycling centre and refuse transfer station on brownfield land at Pennygillam Industrial Estate, Launceston, is taking shape and will replace the current small facility at nearby Bangors Quarry in the final quarter of this year. Grant Scott (operations manager at SITA UK) said: "We are very much looking forward to providing a modern, clean and spacious facility to serve people living in the Launceston area and we were pleased to welcome locally elected councillors to the site so that they could see for themselves how things are taking shape."

STUCK IN: Ready to lend a hand, from left, are: Grant Scott (Operations Manager at SITA UK) and Cornwall Councillors Alex Folkes (Launceston Central), Sasha Gillard-Loft (Launceston), Adam Paynter (Launceston North) and Phil Parsons (Altarnun).
