H B H WOOLACOTTS Ltd — which has branches in Bude and Launceston — has appealed against the enforcement notice issued by the North Cornwall District Council in respect of an alleged breach of planning control.

The alleged breach refers to the affixing of 'inappropriate' signs to the front elevation of the building, comprising of large red acrylic fascia with acrylic lettering at the Broad Street shop in Launceston.

The appeal is made on the grounds that listed building consent ought to be granted for the works, or that any relevant condition of such consent which has been granted ought to be discharged, or different conditions substituted.

The council said the appeal will be determined by means of an informal hearing.
