Police are appealing for witnesses to a single vehicle serious collision on the A39 at Crimp, near Bude on Wednesday, January 24

The incident happened at around 12.40pm near the Crimp Garage.

Fire appliances from Hartland, Bude and the rescue tender from Bodmin attended, along with a whole time officer.

Fire officers found the vehicle, a Honda Jazz, on its side with two people trapped. They used crash rescue equipment to release the occupants and they made the vehicle safe.

A woman was airlifted to Derriford Hospital with serious injuries and a man was taken to North Devon District Hospital with minor injuries.

The road was closed at Crimp while emergency services attended the incident.
