BUDE Methodist Church was packed for a rare opportunity to hear Bude Choral Society singing with the Bencoolen Wreckers in a concert of Christmas music in aid of Bude Sea Pool and Stratton Hospital.

In his centenary year, the choral society performed Benjamin Britten's 'Ceremony of Carols', a collection of 15th and 16th century poems set for choir and harp.

Local internationally-renowned harpist Sarah Deere-Jones produced some magical touches, especially in the solo Interlude.

Sue Uglow and Chris Williams blended beautifully in the Spring Carol and the choir were particularly impressive with fine attack in 'Wolcum Yole!' and 'Deo Gracias!'
