Despite cold wet weather on?Good Friday morning some 150 Christians of various denominations, including many young people, assembled in Holsworthy Square for the annual procession of witness.

After words on the meaning of Good Friday by Charles Cornish and prayers said by the Rev Martin Keenan, the town band played the first verse of 'When I Survey the Wondrous Cross' and the procession moved off.

With different people taking a turn at carrying a wooden cross, they followed a circular route, along Bodmin Street, Croft Road and Glebelands, pausing for prayers and a reading of the Easter story from the Scriptures while the band played more Easter hymns.

The procession returned via Honey Meadows to the Square where there were further prayers and the Blessing.
