POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a male driver was seriously injured following a collision with a tree near Launceston.
Officers were called shortly before 3am on Wednesday, March 23 following the single vehicle collision on the A388 near Treburley.
A white Citroen Berlingo van left the carriageway and collided with a tree on the Callington-bound carriageway from Treburley, outside the entrance to Fleardon Farm.
The male driver was reported to be trapped in the vehicle. Police, fire and ambulance attended the scene.
The 27-year-old driver, from Callington, was taken to Derriford Hospital after suffering serious internal injuries.
The road was closed to allow serious collision investigators to examine the scene and diversions were put in place by Highways.
Military Police also assisted with the road closures.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses to contact police.
