THE North Devon Hospice charity shop’s fitting window display in Holsworthy has won the Lions’ annual window dressing competition.

The window dressing competition takes place in Holsworthy in the week before the carnival and was organised this year by Lyn Fursdon, in conjunction with the Holsworthy Carnival Committee.

On Tuesday, November 15, Lyn escorted the independent judges from Bude around all the shops that had entered the competition. The judges said they were very impressed with the very high standard of work and the effort that had been put into this year’s displays.

After all the marks had been added up, the judges awarded the winner’s shield to the North Devon Hospice shop in the Town Square.

Appropriately at this time of year, the winning display was a stunning dress made from poppies, designed and created by Shirley Barriball.

As the standard was so high this year, it was also decided that ‘Highly Commended’ certificates should be presented to Up Market, The Card Kabin, Thomas Westcott Accountants, and The Holsworthy Dry Cleaners.

Holsworthy Carnival Committee expressed its thanks to everyone that entered this year’s competition and for their valued support.
