A SUPERB defensive display from Bradworthy earned them a well deserved point against North Molton. The result could have been much different though as Brad 'keeper Will Radford was again the hero, saving a last minute penalty from Molton captain John Lloyd.

Radford was possibly lucky to still be on the field, however, after he had charged off his line midway through the first half and clattered into a Molton player on the edge of his box. Luckily for the Brad' keeper and his team mates he escaped with just a yellow card.

Brad' took a first half lead when Liam Curtis turned the ball in from close range after Molton had failed to clear Tom Metherall's long throw. Metherall, making his first start for the home side, was a threat every time he launched the ball into the opposition's penalty box. Earlier Carlo Chandler's flicked header had struck the post as Brad' created the better chances despite seeing less of the ball. Tom Marsh's physical presence up front for the visitors was causing some difficulties but Brad's back line of Damian French, Tim Summers and experienced centre half Jonny Furse stood strong and dealt with everything thrown at them.

Molton rallied strongly in the second half, Marsh was unlucky to see his angled shot narrowly miss the far post as he made room for himself in the box before Jack Jenkins stole possession on the edge of the Brad' box and fired an unstoppable drive into the top corner off the crossbar.

Both sides dug deep in search of a winner in a tense last 15 minutes without creating any clear chances until a dubious penalty gave Molton the chance of snatching all three points. The foul appeared to be a long way outside of the box but the referee pointed to the spot and it was left to Radford to save the weak penalty with his feet.

There was just enough time for one final chance for Brad' but Toby Curtis narrowly failed to get a touch to brother Liam's lobbed ball into the box and Molton were able to smother the ball away to safety.
