THERE was a great deal of laughter and fun to be had at the September meeting of the Coads Green WI as members were treated to a demonstration of clog dancing from the Plymouth Maids.
The traditional dances that they performed were accompanied by live music and there were ample opportunities for all there to join in, causing a great deal of mirth, trying to keep up with the guests. The vote of thanks was given by Em Martin.
Christine Walters, the vice chairwoman, lead the business side of the meeting. The hostesses were Janet Ham, Anne Parsons and Sheila Anstey Gilbert.
Dates for the diaries included the Coads Green WI dinner at Polhilsa Farm on October 18.
The Christmas party will be held on Thursday, December 13, in the village hall. The next meeting on October 10 brings the welcome return of canoeist, Rupert Kirkwood with his talk entitled ‘Even Further up the Creek’. It is an open meeting for members, friends and families and will be held in the chapel parlour at 7.30pm.
