THE Coads Green Women’s Institute have been preparing for a celebration of women’s suffrage to be held in the village hall.

It is said that ‘many hands make light work’ and this was certainly the case at the group’s monthly craft evening.

It took just two hours for a small group of members to produce 75 metres of bunting in suffragette colours of green, white and purple to deck the village hall for their celebration of women’s suffrage on Thursday, July 12.

The event is open to members of neighbouring groups and will commence at 4pm with a cream tea in the hall.

The film ‘Suffragettes’ will be shown from 6pm for members and guests.
