LAUNCESTON seems to have missed out on a new hospital and residents want to know why the existing hospital and medical centre have not been combined using the spare land beside the hospital, says a local Cornwall councillor.
Conservative Cornwall Councillor Phil Parsons, has called upon all the health providers, NHS (changing to Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust), PCT (changing to Foundation Trust) and the local GP service to make the best of the new opportunities offered as a result of the changes to the health services.
Speaking to the 'Post' he said: "In conversations I have with local people on the growth of the town the priority highlighted is the need to invest in the local GP surgery and hospital provision."
