WHITSTONE family, Dan and Kyla Cock and their sons Kian and Zak visited Bristol recently to present a cheque for £1249.27 to the Cots for Tots appeal, on behalf of friends and customers of Premier Whitstone Village Stores

The funds were raised at the Taste of Christmas open evening held at the shop in December.

Proprietor Dan Cock said: "Last year we were able to comfortably break the £1,000 target we had set thanks to the continuing generosity of all our customers and friends in these hard economic times. We were also fortunate to exceed our target thanks to the generosity of many local business who kindly chose to sponsor our taste of Christmas open evening."

Dan explained that this year marks a real milestone for them in terms of their charity work, adding: "Firstly we have now raised just under £10,000 for Cots for Tots, and secondly we have now seen the new Cots for Tots house which is a very real and tangible asset which we have helped and continue to fund."
