This is the start of a new monthly column about just some of the great events that are taking place in Tenby Library and about some of the fantastic new books and DVDs that are newly available through the library.

Rugby Stories Competition: Museums Archives and Libraries Wales (CyMAL) has joined forces with the Welsh Rugby Union to hold a competition for young people to celebrate rugby in Wales as part of the forthcoming Rugby World Cup celebrations. There are some great prizes for budding poets and writers and Tenby Library is holding a launch event for children aged 7- 12 on Thursday, June 18, at 5.30 pm. In attendance will be Dan Anthony, author of the Rugby Zombies, and some current Tenby RFC players to give some inspiration and to add a few stories of their own. Story time for under 5s: National Bookstart Week is a celebration of the Book Trust's reading programme that helps families get into the habit of reading every day - Tenby Library will be holding a special Bookstart baby rhyme and story time with some free little books to giveaway to all attending children. It is on Friday, June 12, and you don't have to be a library member to come along. It's free to attend and runs from 11 - 11.45 am.

Job Club in Tenby Library: Ring Tenby Library to book a place. It is run by the Citizen's Advice Bureau and is from 2 - 4 pm every Tuesday.

Ancestry: The library staff will be running some taster sessions on using Ancestry.com and Find my Past - Pembrokeshire libraries subscribe to both websites and the websites can be used for free in any Pembs library. If you would be interested in attending one of these taster sessions, please phone or call in the library for more details

Carers Week, June 8-14: Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, to highlight the challenges carers face and to recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. On Tuesday, June 9, between 2 and 4 pm, Ingrid Bernathova is coming into the library with advice for carers. Please come along to have a chat to her.

New Book Releases: Just some of the many new books in this week include The new Kate Atkinson 'A God in Ruins', Lesley Pearse's' 'Without a Trace' and Peter James's - 'You are Dead!' In non-fiction Anthony Beevor - Ardennes 1944: Hitler's Last Gamble and new in children's fiction, Tom Gates has another hilarious book out 'Yes No (maybe).' Every week the library has new releases of the top DVDs and the rental is for one week. A Pembrokeshire library card also gives you access to free ebooks and audiobooks.
