THE owners of South Petherwin's village shop and Post Office have asked members of the parish council and public to discuss proposals they have provided marketing the sale of the community asset.

Whilst the shop and Post Office have been on the market for a while, owners Darren and Sarah Hart have in a letter, outlined their reasons behind wishing to move on and provided their thoughts on how best the amenity can be sustained.

Regarding their decision to put the shop up for sale, the couple explained: 'There are several reasons, with the main issue being that we both have other business interests that are demanding more of our time and energies, and we can no longer do it all and maintain a decent work/family balance. We have loved running the shop and Post Office and are proud of its success, however as naturally happens, it is time for us to move on.'
