What a welcome to Teignmouth for the many visitors and locals over this past week ­– sitting stinking and covered in flies en route from the Quay car park into town.

As I write this, it's bank holiday Monday and this rubbish has been there for six days. Comments made in my shop include: 'what a stink,' 'is it always like this?', 'glad I don't live here' and others.

So, welcome to Teignmouth. I don't suppose you'll be back.
