AS ANOTHER year draws to a close Camelford Town Band enjoys a little respite, following a busy festive season — and what a season it has been!
December flew into action, starting with the switch-on of Camelford Christmas lights. It was a sight to behold as the town was lit up and carols sung around the tree.
The following day was the band's Christmas dinner at Bowood. A chance for members to socialise along with friends a,nd family. Following tradition the awards were handed out. The awards, comprising soloist and bandsman of the year are decided by managing director, Stephen Wagstaff and chairperson Marney Baker.
As with recent years, the players' player is voted for by playing members of the band. It was with great pleasure that this year the soloist went to Emma Davey, bandsman of the year was awarded to Sally Rickard and players' player was Lewis Baker.
