PLANS for a Tesco supermarket in Tavistock were unanimously approved on?Tuesday by West Devon Borough Council's planning committee.

The store will be on the site of the former Focus Do It All shop on Plymouth Road Industrial Estate and Tesco intends to refurbish the building, provide 122 car parking spaces and create 105 new jobs.

The planning committee went against the planning officer's recommendation to refuse the planning application.

The approval is subject to several conditions which include no sale of white goods from the store.
