WERRINGTON First Team underlined that they are the team of the moment in Cornwall Cricket with two victories over the weekend — on Saturday, a top of the league performance to beat Truro by 87 runs with Mini Robbins 50 and Sam Hockin 38 topping the batting, and Alex Smeeth taking 7 for 16 off 7 overs. Then on Sunday an even sweeter victory for their supporters to celebrate as reigning county champions St Just were beaten by 49 runs in the ECB Cockspur Cup (Ben Smeeth 74, Mark Hodgson 38, and Alex Smeeth taking a hat-trick, 3-15). In the next round Werrington are away to Cornwood on Sunday June 14. Scorecards will be printed in next week's edition. Two Centuries: Werrington second and third teams were home on Monday and each had a century maker — Adam Hodgson 105 and Tom Lyle 100no (six off the last ball!)
