The St Piran's Day celebrations in Launceston were well supported last Friday. The flag of St Piran flew all day at the Castle and at 6pm, a good crowd gathered to see the flag being 'piped down' by Rob Strike, playing Trelawney on his Cornish bagpipes. A procession then walked from the Castle to the Square, where Launceston Town Crier Rob Tremain retold the story of St Piran and gave a short presentation on Cornish politics. Following this, the group moved down to The Bell Inn for an evening of music and singing, accompanied by some pasties and Cornish ale. Rob said: "We had a super day. It was very well supported again this year."
