Launceston Pre-School staff have welcomed in the Chinese New Year this week with their new manager, Danielle.

The children have been tasting Chinese dishes and experiencing cultural differences through role play with chop sticks and woks.

To celebrate the year of the rabbit, the children had a visit from Danielle’s grey mini Rex rabbit, called Rex.

This provided an opportunity to explain the care that rabbits need for good health and wellbeing.

The usual morning wake-up sessions were replaced with Tai Chi and children’s Yoga. This was a real hit with the children causing much laughter and giggling while they tried the new exercises.

The year ahead will see the children embark on an exciting new gardening project with the imminent arrival of planters.
