HOLSWORTHY Town Councillors donned their welly boots and shovels to plant more than 200 trees on Sunday.
Councillors were blessed with sunshine for their latest visit to Stanhope Park, as part of the ongoing project to improve the site for residents and visitors of Holsworthy.
More than 200 saplings were planted along the bank at Pearson Close under the guidance of George Orr-Wilcox from the cricket club, with some 'excellent' cups of tea from Dave Gerry.
The residents appreciated it too because it provided some shielding from stray cricket balls and, in time, will act as a sun-trap.
The trees were kindly donated by the Woodland Trust through the Queen's Jubilee Fields in Trust and Western Power Distribution via Silvanus Trust.
