A PHOTOGRAPHIC illustration to commemorate Remembrance Day has been viewed by millions of people across the globe.

Bude-based photographer, Tim Martindale, came up with the idea to illustrate the famous lines from Laurence Binyon's 1914 poem 'For the Fallen'.

He said: "Most people will be familiar with the famous lines from this poem 'at the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them' but few will know that they were written whilst Binyon was sitting on the north Cornwall cliffs near Polzeath, during the early days of the first world war.

"The poem also ends with the words 'They sleep beyond England's foam' which references the foaming surf he observed at the time."
