CLAIRE Hewlett, the Green Party spokesperson for North Cornwall, joined the Bude Green Team recently to carry out water quality testing on the Strat and the Neet rivers.

A small group assembled at the confluence of the rivers to carry out water quality testing on the two rivers.

The Neet squeaked a narrow win, only the total dissolved solids test could split them and it was 136ppm (parts per million) to 156 in the Neet’s favour.

The group then set off down the canal, collecting 1.6kg of rubbish, before enjoying some refreshments at The Weir.

Mrs Hewlett, from Camelford, attended the meeting in her capacity as North Cornwall Green Party spokesman, and is hoping to set up a Camelford Green Team.
