SPEEDWATCH volunteers have been monitoring vehicles at St Teath and Delabole this month.

Camelford Police wrote on their Facebook page that on December 1, volunteers from Delabole Speedwatch monitored the speed of traffic in West Down Road, Delabole.

The volunteers were there from 2.45pm to 3.15pm and letters are being sent to nine drivers who police said were driving well over the speed limit — the fastest at 45mph in a 30mph area.

Three of the vehicles caught were owned by persons from Delabole, three from Tintagel, one from Camelford and one from St Teath, one by a company from Falmouth, and one vehicle is from Kent.

St Teath Community Speedwatch volunteers monitored the speed of vehicles through the village on Wednesday, December 16 and again on December 18.

Police said letters are being sent to the owners of the 12 vehicles that were caught speeding.

Five of the speeding vehicles are owned by persons or companies in Delabole, the others are owned by persons or companies from Camelford, St Teath, St Tudy, Summercourt, Tintagel and Hemel Hempstead.

PCSO Mike Dodd, Camelford Police station, said repeat offenders will be targeted by both the local Traffic Police and also the Road Safety Camera Partnership.
