DEVON and Cornwall Police are urging shop workers to be vigilant against people asking them to exchange large amounts of cash.

The force says people ‘wanting to exchange large amounts of cash from 10s to 20 pound notes, or vice versa’, may be trying to confuse staff in order to be given more cash than they handed over.

A spokesperson said: “Advise staff accordingly to avoid financial loss.”

Anyone with information regarding these type of incidents, please contact police on 101.
