IN?THE hope that a war hero can be remembered in 2013 with his family present at Markelo, Holland, New Zealand man Darryl Robertson is asking people of the Bude and Stratton area for their help.

Darryl is trying to locate the family of an RAF bomber shot down over Holland 70 years ago, as his body was never recovered from the crash, and allow him to be commemorated the same way his colleagues were.

Flight Sergeant Wireless Operator Air Gunner Roy Victor Ledger died in the incident in 1943, which happened with the 35 squadron on a bombing Pathfinder mission to Berlin, that left from RAF Gravely's base in Cambridgeshire.
