MURDER mystery, a fishermen's friend and a Radio Four presenter. An unlikely mix but just some of the varied ingredients that helped make Boscastle's first big event of the festival season a great success.
Nobody bothered to count all the miles trekked during Walking Week but all who took part were agreed that even the odd blister was a price worth paying for the opportunity of getting a different take on Cornwall's fabulous coast and countryside. Add to that the bonus of wonderful weather — almost wall to wall sunshine — and it's not difficult to see why the first Walking Week to be held in April has proved so popular.
A total of 17 walks, five boat trips, badger watching, star gazing, special lunches, quizzes, suppers and a festival dinner all added to the varied programme on offer to more than a hundred locals and visitors.
Walking Week was the first event of BosFest 2010 which ends in October with the three day Food, Art and Crafts festival held in two giant marquees on the harbour car park.
