A DOG owner from Week St Mary is organising a charity-walk to raise money for a cause, which helps dogs with canine epilepsy.

Angela O'Connor, 49, is raising money for the Blu's Tale Foundation, which helps dogs with canine epilepsy and supports their owners.

Canine Epilepsy is a brain disorder that causes the dog to have sudden, uncontrolled, recurring physical attacks, with or without loss of consciousness.

Angela's dog, Breeze, a four-year-old Alaskan Malamute, was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy when she was two. This form of epilepsy has no identified cause, but it could be inherited.

As a result, Breeze will be on medication for the rest of her life and although this helps she still has seizures every two to four weeks, sometimes three or more in 24 hours and can last for about a minute.
