THE Palm Sunday service was held at the Church of St Peter ad Vincula in Ashwater on Sunday, March 20.

The ‘Walk of Witness’ was taken around Ashwater and was led by the donkey and the Rev Jane Lucas. Rev Jane said the event was a success, and the donkey was very well behaved.

The event was to celebrate Palm Sunday, with a walk around the village with the donkey, who seemed quite an attraction.

Rev Jane added: “The donkey was lovely, his name is ‘Donk’, and he has been doing this with us now for several years.”

The church was also joined on their Walk of Witness by a few members of the community.
