A BOSCASTLE resident has teamed up with his local to host a 'Wacky Races' charity day. The event, which raised more than £1,250 for the renal unit at Derriford Hospital, where event organiser Scott Butcher is a patient, saw teams from Boscastle and the surrounding areas racing down Penally Hill in home-made karts. The race concluded at the Cobweb Inn, where an auction and hog roast helped to increase the final total. Scott, his mother, Deborah Bunt, and Rachel Prideaux, of the Cobweb Inn, visited the unit to present the cheque to matron Jill Swales and members of the renal team. For the full report, and a round up of the area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.
