A GROUP of vounteers have been working to tidy up the A39 underpass towards Bude during the half term.

Bude Valley Volunteers remarked the multi-use path had lost almost half its width in less than four years since it was created.

The group tackled this. Though few in number, together they did more than 17 hours of work in a morning.

Long rolls of overgrowing grass were cut out and lifted away all along one side, making the path 2ft wider. A start was made on the other side too.

There were also lighter jobs — including snipping and trimming back of brambles and plants (secateurs and light loppers were available to borrow) and pouring the coffee.
