THE team at the Cornwall Nature Conservancy in Launceston have expressed ‘enormous gratitude and thanks’ to a local store in helping them towards conservation efforts.
On Friday and Saturday, June 22 and 23, staff from the M&S Food store in Launceston went along to the Cornwall Nature Conservancy, at Little Comfort, with shovels, gardening gloves and shears to help clear debris and tidy up an area at the conservancy.
Tony Blackler, founding trustee of the conservancy that keeps a range of beautiful wild animals from across the world and promotes education of conservancy to protect endangered animals, was thrilled with the work that took place. He said: “It was quite a job, but they did as much as they could! The store has also donated equipment to us as well, which is wonderful.”
The big clean-up saw the M&S team tidy the Christmas tree area at the conservancy, from which later in the year the trees will be sold for the festive season, with funds raised to go towards the conservancy.
Tony added: “It went very well overall. It was a massive task, but they all did as much as they could.
“I’d like to extend enormous gratitude and thanks for not only that exercise, but also as the M&S store are donating their out-of-date fruit and vegetables to us, plus their continued support. Ever since they started, they have been supportive of us.”
