A WEEK of fun events, from a dog show to duck race, took place in Altarnun.
Each year the village holds a fun week with a range of daytime and evening events.
On Saturday, August 29 the dog show, barbecue and duck race drew in the crowds for an afternoon of competition.
A spokesperson for the event said: “It was a well attended event, with good weather to help everyone — participants and observers — enjoy the day.
“Judging proved a testing time, with so many proud owners parading their dogs in the ring, and so many categories to compete in.”
When all the dogs had ‘barked’ their way through the events, the duck race took place.
With more than 300 ducks competing, three races were run, with the best ten from each race competing in a fourth to decide the overall winner.
And the overall winning duck was purchased by the Vicar of Altarnun, the Rev Deryn Roberts.
A spokesperson added: “It was a very successful day of fundraising for the village, and more importantly a wonderful community event.”
