The fancy dress and wheelbarrow races were one of the first highlights of Tintagels recent Carnival Week programme. The rain held off until just at the end, allowing for a thoroughly enjoyable evening with thrills and spillages as the wheelbarrow pushers and their occupants weaved their way round the route through the village for the adults, and across the car park for the infants. There were races for the infants, juniors and adult ladies and men.

Star attraction was disputably the Flintstones entry with six strapping lads trying to drive with great hilarity their stone car down the high street race course creating great disruption for the fellow wheelbarrow racers.
